About Hosted Cron
I have used many hosts in the past 5 years and I am one of those guys who likes to automate
everything on my sites to best deliver the best service with the least work. This has served
me well allowing me enough time to build new sites and grow my busines.
The main problem that I kept running into was that by using less expensive hosts, I often
found that the automation programs or scripts that I used on different types of sites required
scheduled maintenance. Now that in itself is not a problem, but then I found out that the host
I was using did not allow users to run crontab's. This made my scheduling tasks extremely difficult,
if not impossible.
This is where my frustration came into play. I finally hired someone to make me a set of scripts
to perform scheduled tasks just like a real crontab would do. But I also had them make the graphical
user interface so that it was simple for any novice to figure out.
Once he had the scripts built to do exactly what I needed, and I had a chance to look them over,
it dawned on me that many other people must have the same problems I was facing and would benefit
greatly from my creation.
Thus was this site created.
